Your Industry Association – working for members
Established in 1986, the Livestock Transporters Association of Tasmania (LTAT) is the peak body representing the interests of livestock transporters in Tasmania.
The LTAT supports our members with advice, information and representation to government, industry, and the broader community in Tasmania. Membership is open to businesses who transport livestock, or who provide services to the industry. LTAT meets throughout each year, with work of the Association carried out by the Executive and committees.
Our Aim
Our aim is to make sure that livestock transport is a safe, responsible and productive part of regional economies. We do this through our work with our members, government, industry, community and media.
Your Voice
As part of a national federation of Livestock Transport Associations, and a member of the national body – the Australian Livestock and Rural Transporter’s Association (ALRTA), the Livestock Transporters Association of Tasmania contributes to national policy and directions. Together our associations represent around 850 transport businesses including owner-drivers, small fleet operators and large fleet operators with hundreds of trucks and trailers. The ALRTA is governed by a National Council comprising representatives of our six state member associations and the National Member Chapter. The National Council is serviced by a secretariat located in Canberra and supported by our National Partners. LTAT is also a full member of the Tasmanian Transport Association, with a seat at the Board and input to matters affecting livestock transporters and the broader Tasmanian Transport Industry.
